Omar Khayyam, one of the most well-know Iranian scientist,mathematician,astronomer,philosopher and poet born in the city of Nishabour in Iran on may 31,1048 and died in 1131, he is best known in the west for the collection of poetry and the rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam.He spend his childhood in the town of Balhi, studying there and being tutored by sheik Mohammad Mansure, one of the most well-known scholars of Nishabour,who was considered one of the greatest teachers of the Khorassan region.

Omar Khayam,as astronomer,estimated and proved to an audience that included the then-prestigious and most respected scholar Imam Ghazali that the universe is not moving around the earth as was believed by all at that time.

However,Omar Khayyam is well-known for his rubaiyat,The Rubaiyat Omar Khayyam is among the few masterpieces that have been translated into most languages,including English,French,German,Italian,Russian,Chinese,Hindi,Arabic and Urdu.
